This book review is about the book “ A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder”. So the story is basically about this girl , Pippa Fitz-Amobi , who decides to investigate a closed case in the small town of Little Kilton. The case: Andie Bell is missing and her body is still not found. Soon after her death, her boyfriend,Sal Singh, is found dead.
Everyone in the town thinks he murdered her even though no one had ever found her body but Pip thinks otherwise and sets out to prove everyone wrong, accompanied by Ravi Singh, Sal Singh’s brother.
However, the solution to this story is quite complicated as there was a series of circumstances that lead to Andie’s death and it is not that black-and-white. Like you can’t really point to anyone of them and say they murdered her so there is a lot of grey areas. Honestly, it is a bit confusing but I still say that it is a really good book.
I loved how the author played out the story naturally and it flowed quite smoothly. There was not a lot of forced conversations and it felt realistic which is something some murder mystery writers don’t do.
However, the one thing that I really don’t like about this story is that Pip’s dog, Barney, died.( I cried at that part.) Because I really love dogs, I seriously hate it when a dog dies in a story or a movie.
Despite that , it is a good book and I do recommend that you read it. Plus, “ A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder” is the first of a trilogy continuing Pip’s detecting. It’s really good. I binge- read all three books in two days. Thanks for reading!!
