#1. A good girl's guide to murder
A good girl’s guide to murder is under the young adult section which falls under the mystery and crime thriller genre. This book was written by Holly Jackson and was the number one New York's time best selling series. This book was followed up with two sequels, ‘Good Girl Bad Blood’ and ‘As good as dead’.
There are a few key characters in the book, with the protagonist being Pippia Fitz Amobi, Andie Bell the character that disappeared and was presumed dead, Sal Singh who was alleged to have killed Andie Bell and was believed to have committed suicide and Ravi Singh the younger brother of Sal and helped Pippa investigate the case.
The book is about Pippa who decided to investigate the murder of a girl, Andie Bell 5 years ago for her school project. Andie’s boyfriend, Sal Singh was thought to have killed her and committed suicide out of guilt but Pip did not believe Sal did it. As she uncovers hidden secrets and new evidence, she realizes that the real killer may still be out there and that she’s getting closer to dangerous truths. In the end, she managed to solve the mystery!
I personally really enjoyed reading the book as it was very interesting and there was a sense of mystery and got me hooked onto the book from the beginning to the end. I really liked the characters and their different personalities as it added so much flavor to the book and how each of them has their motive. There were many plot twists at the most unexpected times that took me by surprise multiple times. The book is also very meaningful as it brought Sal Singh some justice even though he is dead and managed to prove his innocence. It taught me many important lessons as well like the importance of justice, how collaboration is important and how things are always more complex than it seems. It was really fantastic, unique and one of the best mystery books I have ever read.
