J-Pop: Japan’s Unique Pop Music
I’m sure most of us have heard of J-Pop, or Japanese pop music. People around the world listen to it, regardless of the language barrier. It is a big part of Japan’s entertainment scene, known for catchy songs. But J-Pop isn’t just music—it’s also about anime and culture.
How J-Pop Started
J-Pop began in the 1960s, influenced by Western pop and rock. In the 1990s, it became super popular with stars like Namie Amuro, Ayumi Hamasaki, and Hikaru Utada. Since then, J-Pop has grown and changed, mixing different styles to create its own unique sound.
J-Pop Around the World
Thanks to anime, video games, and social media, J-Pop is getting more fans worldwide. Singers like YOASOBI, Kenshi Yonezu, and Ado are now popular on streaming platforms. While K-Pop is more famous internationally, J-Pop is still loved by many.
J-Pop is always changing, but its mix of music, culture, and creativity keeps it exciting. But if you listen to it, I’m sure you’ll find something you’ll enjoy!
