A picturesque and charming cafe, Knots Cafe and Living is a go-to place for anyone looking for a delightful dining experience. It is located at Paya Lebar, and, upon stepping through the entrance, one would be greeted by colourful and decorative flowers situated around the restaurant. Furthermore, as its name suggests, not only does it sell flowers, it also boasts a rustic and beautiful collection of hand-crafted and sustainable furniture pieces found on both levels of the restaurant.

With its gorgeous and brightly-lit interiors, it is easy for anyone to unwind and relax after a hard day’s work, or for one to catch up with their friends and family over the weekend. The quiet and slow hum of activity, combined with its overall warm and cozy atmosphere, makes it so that it is the perfect place for anybody seeking to pass time unhurriedly as they sip on a Caramel Macchiato, or feast on any of the cafe’s delectable dishes.

Some of the notable dishes and treats that the chefs recommend are the Knots Waffle Brekkie, Truffle Parma and Carbonara. The Knots Waffle Brekkie is a delightful platter of buttermilk waffles, sauteed mushrooms, scrambled eggs and so on. However, as some may find the waffle a bit too dry, requesting for maple syrup is also recommended. You can also help yourself to a delicious serving of truffle fries or fish and chips. Including drinks, which range from coffee to cold brew fruit teas, the prices start from approximately $8 onwards, and can go as high up to $72 for their wine selection.

I would recommend this place mainly because of two reasons. Firstly, as it is found in an unassuming location, it is far from constantly being crowded. The cafe’s snug and peaceful ambience is a nice change from the usual hustle of city life, and in my opinion, allows one to temporarily forget about deadlines or assignments as one’s attention is captured and surrounded by the sight of flowers and beautiful interiors. Secondly, while I do not feel that the food was particularly special, with its menu providing a wide range of choices of food, drinks, and desserts, I still found myself satisfied with the options available. The presentation of the dishes were aesthetically-pleasing, which is great for anyone who loves taking pictures of their food, and the portions were decent. Overall, it was a memorable dining experience and, thus, I would suggest this place to anyone looking to discover hidden cafes in Singapore.
