Teacher's Day 2023

As Dr. Ralph Tyler once said, ‘Teaching is not just a job. It is a human service, and it must be thought of as a mission.’ Teachers’ day is a day where the whole school is able to come together to commemorate and appreciate the teacher’s efforts and contributions. This year, we were unable to gather as a school, however, we did not let the situation stop us from showing appreciation to our teachers. We were able to celebrate teachers’ day virtually in our own classes.

We started the celebration by having missions, such as submitting a photo of a teacher doing certain poses. Thereafter, we had a kahoot session with questions testing us on our knowledge of the teachers. It was definitely an exciting activity filled with anticipation, cheers filling the class as we chose the correct option. Soon, we got to watch videos of students expressing their gratitude to teachers with their spectacular performance. Showcasing their talents, the performances were met with applause as we appreciated those who had taken the opportunity to speak for all the students. 

Following was the implementation of an in-class karaoke. In the heart of a sunlit classroom, the words ‘I can count on you’ reverberate. This in-class karaoke of “Count on Me” resonates with gratitude, filling the room with a profound appreciation for the teachers who have guided, nurtured, and believed in us. As we sang, their voices carry the weight of unspoken thanks, acknowledging the unwavering support, wisdom, and inspiration bestowed upon them by their educators. The lyrics become a powerful testament to the profound impact teachers have on our lives, embodying the sentiment that, indeed, we can always count on our teachers, just as their teachers have always counted on us. This musical gesture of gratitude transforms the classroom into a sanctuary of heartfelt appreciation, where the bonds between students and teachers are celebrated, cherished, and forever remembered.

To recap, a tapestry of heartwarming memories have been woven with these activities-between us students and teachers. Teachers are akin to beacons of light, guiding us along these rocky and precarious pathways. So thank you teachers, for you have all been there and ‘I can count on you like 4, 3, 2’.
